Repspiratory motion correction with a 2d self-navigator from bssfp dummy profiles

چکیده
Introduction Several self-navigation techniques have been proposed to improve respiratory motion compensation in CMRA. Motion estimation is, however, often impeded by static structures within the excited volume. In this work a 2D self-navigation (2DSN) method is proposed and implemented by using the dummy profiles of a 3D bSSFP sequence. To create 2DSN images we added phase encoding (PE) gradients during the start-up echoes. With this approach we can calculate foot-head motion and retrospectively perform translational correction.

Whole-heart Coronary Mra Using 2d Self-navigation
Introduction: Several self-navigation techniques have been proposed to improve respiratory motion compensation in CMRA [1-3]. Compared to diaphragmatic navigators self-navigating methods do not require the use of a heart-diaphragm motion model as they allow direct measurement of cardiac motion. Motion estimation is, however, often impeded by static structures within the excited volume. In this ...
متن کاملSelf-Navigation with Compressed Sensing for 2D Translational Motion Correction in Free-Breathing Coronary MRI: A Feasibility Study
PURPOSE Respiratory motion correction remains a challenge in coronary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and current techniques, such as navigator gating, suffer from sub-optimal scan efficiency and ease-of-use. To overcome these limitations, an image-based self-navigation technique is proposed that uses "sub-images" and compressed sensing (CS) to obtain translational motion correction in 2D. The...
متن کامل3D Coronary MRA with 2D beat-to-beat translational and bin-to-bin affine respiratory motion correction using a golden radial image navigator
Figure 2 – Reformatted images showing the main coronary arteries of two subjects. Subject 1: 2D Affine + translational motion correction gives superior image quality compared to both 2D translational correction and a gated scan (with ~3x reduction in scan time). Subject 2: 2D motion correction gives similar image quality to the gated scan with ~2x reduction in scan time. Affine correction shows...

Introduction Respiratory organ motion is a complicating factor in many treatments. Especially for dynamic dose delivery such as in tumor therapy, exact knowledge of organ motion and its influence on the dose distribution is crucial. Siebenthal et al [1] recently purposed a novel respiratory correlated MR imaging method that acquires a full 2D sagittal navigator image instead of the commonly use...
متن کاملBreath-hold imaging of the coronary arteries using quiescent-interval slice-selective (qiss) magnetic resonance angiography - pilot study at 1.5 tesla and 3 tesla
BACKGROUND Coronary magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is usually obtained with a free-breathing navigator-gated 3D acquisition. Our aim was to develop an alternative breath-hold approach that would allow the coronary arteries to be evaluated in a much shorter time and without risk of degradation by respiratory motion artifacts. For this purpose, we implemented a breath-hold, non-contrast-enh...
